This cd-rom is a great way for beginners to learn how to yo-yo.  The cd demonstrates many of the basic components needed for more advanced tricks.  This cd-rom format has several advantages over video.  Included on this cd is a control panel that lets you view each demonstration in various speeds of slow motion, even one frame at a time.  You can also run them in reverse.  This is easily done with a mouse.

There is no narrative with the demonstrations.  Instead there is a text box which describes each move in detail.  The steps are numbered and corresponding numbers flash on the demo movie when each step is performed.  There is also a step viewer which allows you to click on the step number and see a still shot of the step.  Each shot has colored strings so you can see exactly what goes where.

Another great feature is that each demonstration is shown from three vantage points, front, right and left.  This is also featured with the step viewer.   There are six sections to the cd, mounts, dismounts, rolls, moves, tricks and freehand.

The insert states "the tricks... consist mainly of the hardest one-handed maneuvers ever created".  This is obviously no longer the case, but beginners and even the novice should find this cd helpful.  The one problem I have with this cd is the music.  The same short techno beat is repeated for each demo.   After a while it becomes quite annoying.
