Kickin' Tricks wasn't designed as an instruction video, although there is plenty to learn from it. It was more of a showcase for the current who's who in the world of yo. The later release includes a Superyo trick sheet (see sticker on cover).

There are plenty of tricks included, demonstrated by many different players. However, none of the tricks are explained, so the viewer will have to figure out how they are done. The video starts out with Arne Dixon talking about how the yo-yo world has evolved as well as what you can expect to see on the video.

A few clips are shown from Arne's Duncan video (see review), where Arne performs some basic tricks. Then a vintage clip is shown which features a number of Cheerio demonstrators performing two-handed loops for a group of kids. Other clips include President Nixon's appearance at the Grand Ole Opry in 1974, Astronaut David Griggs yo-yoing on a space shuttle flight in April, 1985, and interviews with players on the hazards of yo-yoing as well as their thoughts about Arne.

Below is a list of players and the tricks they demonstrated. The list is in alphabetical order by first name. I think I got everyone, if not, sorry. There were many other tricks and freestyle routines which were shown but not named so I did not include them on the list. (There were two players who I don't believe were named. One performed atomic fakey and electro cyclone, the other slinky. If you know who they are please email me.)
