Even though Fast Eddy is one of my all time favorite yo-yo performers I was very disappointed with this video. The video is very short and only a handful of tricks are performed. The video begins with a scene that looks like it is straight out of a Clint Eastwood western, with Eddy playing the role of a yo-yo slinger. He has a shoot out with a couple of tough guys and the hero prevails. The scene is humorous but suffers from some bad editing. After this a montage of newspaper clips about Eddy are shown, but they move very quickly across the screen and are too small to read. Next is a clip of Eddy on a televison show when he set the record for performing 31 tricks in one minute. Eddy then introduces himself and goes over what's on the video. Then a brief history of the yo-yo is given. A clip of Astronaut David Griggs yo-yoing on a space shuttle flight in April, 1985 is shown, as well as a clip from the 1960's of everyday people yoing. Eddy then goes over the basics of how to string a yo-yo, tying the slipnot, tightening and loosening the string and waxing the string. He only demonstrates ten tricks (see list below). He goes over them very fast while only repeating several (I guess he was trying to live up to his name). In between tricks there are other clips. One shows Eddy doing halley's comet, flying saucer, stop and go, and two-handed loops. In another clip from a tv show a 22 year old Eddy is shown doing two-handed loops while the narrator mentions that Eddy holds the record for doing the most tricks in one hour, 8,500. There's also a clip of Eddy knocking a quarter off a man's ear, which comes with a warning stating that the trick is dangerous. Eddy is also shown lighting a match with a looping yo-yo. In another clip eddy is dressed as a spy, picks up a briefcase, runs around for about a minute, then stops in front of a house. He opens the briefcase, pulls out some yo-yos, and does some tricks (two-handed looping, around the world into a trapaze, atom smasher, and rocket in the pocket). In another clip there is a fancy party taking place. The guests are dressed in formal wear. Yo-yos are handed out to everyone and then they play with them. The end of the video shows some out takes. In one, Eddy slips and says yo-yo instead of return top (The word yo-yo is trademarked in Canada so Eddy uses return top throughout the video). I really wish this video was longer. I would have liked Eddy to demostrate more tricks as well as show off more of his yo-yoing skills. Trick List:
